Making Happiness Bloom: A Look Back at the FQ Lounge™ @ SXSW 2025

As we gear up for the high-energy atmosphere of SXSW 2026 in Austin, Texas, we can’t help but reflect on the incredible impact of last year’s collaboration. In March 2025, we had the privilege of providing custom floral and plant decor for The Female Quotient (FQ) Lounge™, hosted at the iconic Waller Creek Boathouse.

The FQ Lounge™ has long been known as "the place where business happens," serving as a vital hub for industry leaders to connect, collaborate, and tackle the pressing questions surrounding gender equality in the workplace and beyond.

Elevating the "Equality Lounge" Experience

Our goal for the 2025 activation was to create a "female-forward" environment that was as inspiring as the conversations taking place within it. At an event where women drive up to 85% of purchasing decisions but receive less than 2% of venture capital funding, every detail matters in creating a space that feels both professional and empowering.

The decor at the Waller Creek Boathouse featured:

• Lush Floral Installations: Vibrant arrangements designed to mirror the energy of the "Invest in Women Daily" (IWD) initiative.
• Branded Plant Decor: Strategic greenery that complemented the FQ brand while providing a welcoming, organic feel to the high-tech SXSW environment.
• Interactive Elements: We believe that florals should be an experience, not just a backdrop, much like the FQ’s mission to move from "good intentions to intentional actions".

Our Austin screening event at Soho House brought the drama (in the best way) with wedding aesthetics and rival themes inspired by the world of “You’re Cordially Invited.” Guests were welcomed by a stunning wedding cake adorned with contrasting florals and a step-and-repeat split between marigolds and hydrangeas, reflecting the film’s dueling wedding aesthetics. 🌸💐Signature cocktails like the Sister of the Bride and Father of the Bride served during the reception were a playful nod to the story’s family feud. 🍸🎬When it was time to settle into the luxe screening room, guests picked a seat, picked a side—choosing blankets in one of two colors to match the movie’s colorful onscreen rivalry. Kim and Eric's beautiful spring time wedding. We had a mixture of short centerpieces and tall centerpieces by candlelight at Chateau Bellevue. We made sure to use classic elegant flowers to match the venue and surroundings.

🌸 A Perfect Union of Industrial and Elegance: A Bat Mitzvah by Waterloo Creative 🌸

We are thrilled to share the details of this breathtaking Bat Mitzvah celebration, a true testament to the power of thoughtful design, orchestrated flawlessly by the visionaries at @waterloocreative!

The Venue and Vision

The setting for this memorable event was the dynamic and versatile @800congress. The inherent character of the space—with its modern industrial elements, exposed brick, and expansive windows—provided a dramatic and sophisticated backdrop. The design challenge, which the team embraced fully, was to infuse this raw elegance with soft, festive warmth.

The chosen palette of light pink accents, natural ivory, and vibrant greenery achieved this beautifully. This combination struck the ideal balance: the soft textiles and organic elements provided a welcoming contrast to the venue's concrete and steel.

Floral and Decor Highlights

Our focus for the decor was to enhance the natural height and light of the venue while bringing the outdoors in. As seen in the attached image, we incorporated striking, oversized natural woven chandeliers. These were heavily adorned with cascades of lush greenery and flowing vines, creating a breathtaking focal point that drew the eye up and diffused a warm, intimate glow over the dining areas.

Long communal tables and round dining setups featured a mix of rattan-backed chairs and sleek modern seating, all dressed with linens in shades of ivory and light pink. We accented the tabletops with simple, elegant garlands of greenery and scattered ivory pillar candles, reinforcing the natural and romantic ambiance.

It was an honor for @jordanflowersevent to execute the floral and decor vision, turning the planners' concept into a tangible, unforgettable celebration.

Rachel and Emma's Driskill wedding day was a wedding day in which our team will never forget. From the entrance petals to the exit petals LUSH LUSH LUSH! The Driskill Hotel in Austin in one fo the most historical and oldest hotels in the city. From hosting balls and galas to being Lyndon B. Johson's go to place in his years in Texas, this hotel is one of the most elegant in Austin. It only fitting to have ceremony and reception flowers to match. We wanted to create an entrance and by having an entire 15 feet aisle with full petals down to the fireplace ceremony are filled with full flowers and greenery their ceremony was so gorgeous and classic. We loved the couple walking down the aisle together with their fathers. After the ceremony guest entered the ballroom to the awe factor chandelier with a floral and greenery installation to really highlight the chandelier features. The added bubble lights hanging with lights and petals was so fun and romantic to dance under all night. For the guest centerpieces we used our gold mercury glass pillar candles in addition to a gold julep cup to match and greenery at the base. The other table we used our gold revere bowls to match the candle and julep cup centerpiece. The head table was a beautifully full table with our gold Harlow stands and flowing greenery and flowers cascading down the center with the bridesmaids bouquets and a greenery with flower accent runner. The guests had the time of their lives. There was not one guest sitting in their chairs it was so fabulous to watch everyone have the time of their lives on one of the most special day of out bride's lives.

We're still buzzing with excitement from the Blanton Museum of Art's annual fundraising gala! It was an absolute dream come true to bring our "Texas tumbleweeds meet Texas spring" vision to life, transforming the museum into a breathtaking haven of Western charm and fresh floral beauty.

Imagine: elevated floral installations that seemed to float, capturing the essence of a sprawling Texas landscape. Picture textured table arrangements that whispered stories of sun-drenched plains and vibrant spring blossoms. What an incredible experience at the annual Texas Women’s Conference in Austin! We were absolutely thrilled to join over 4,000 inspiring guests for a day centered around growth and connection. As the "Texas in Bloom" theme took over the city, we partnered with Texas Mutual to bring a unique, tactile experience to life that truly made happiness bloom.

Our interactive flower bar was the talk of the conference, offering a creative sanctuary amidst the bustling event. We curated a stunning buffet of dried botanicals displayed in our signature rental dishes, allowing every guest to hand-pick the blooms that resonated with them most. Once they designed their perfect postcard keepsake, they visited our "budtender" to have their floral arrangements permanently preserved with a custom wax seal.

Watching thousands of women walk away with a personalized piece of art was the highlight of our week. There is something so special about the ritual of selecting flowers and watching the hot wax create a timeless seal, and we are so grateful to have provided that moment of tactile joy. It was a beautiful reminder of how small, intentional details can make a massive impact at a large-scale event.

Stepping into Villa Antonia, you're immediately transported to a world of romance, and for this unforgettable wedding, it was transformed into an ethereal dream woven with white, blush, and navy accents. Every detail, from the grand staircase to the intimate tea ceremony, spoke of elegance and personalized charm, all beautifully captured by Mars and Moon Photography.

A Grand Entrance Adorned with Greenery

Imagine walking into a space where lush greenery cascaded down the majestic stairs, creating a living aisle of natural beauty. And, of course, no celebration is complete without a masterpiece, and Michelle's Patisserie delivered a stunning cake that was as delicious as it was beautiful.

The bride's bouquet was a masterpiece, a true reflection of her style and the wedding's color palette. A Nod to Tradition: The Red and Gold Tea Ceremony

This was more than just a gender reveal; it was a magical journey into the Hundred Acre Wood, brought to life at the beautiful Springdale Station in downtown Austin.

As Austin's best event decor and custom painting artists, we poured our hearts into every single detail to create a truly unique and enchanting event. Every piece of signage and every beloved book character, from Pooh to Piglet, was meticulously hand-painted by us, transforming the space into a vivid storybook setting.

We believe that fresh flower arrangements and live event floristry elevate any occasion. For this special reveal, our team designed enchanting Winnie the Pooh-themed florals. We customized every element, even painting the vases to resemble adorable little honey pots, then added honey dippers and cute bee accents for that perfect Pooh vibe. It was like guests were stepping right into the classic book!

To capture the true essence of vintage Winnie the Pooh (not to be mistaken with the '90s Disney style!), we framed pages from the original books, filled with timeless life lessons, and displayed them as charming centerpieces. And for a truly immersive experience, we custom-designed the trees for our 360° photobooth and cake table. You'll do a double-take when you see them—they look incredibly real, but they're actually crafted from birchwood poles, curly willow, and smilax, showcasing our dedication to unique and custom event decor.

Every element, from the hand-painted details to the stunning fresh flower arrangements, came together to create a beautiful storybook setting, a true testament to our passion for best event decor and floral design in Austin. Judd and Olga's wedding at the South Congress Hotel was a vibrant celebration of their love, and we were honored to be their floral vendor. As Austin's best florist, we worked closely with our wonderful client to bring their vision to life. The result was a stunning display of fresh flowers that perfectly complemented their colorful palette.

One of the most breathtaking elements of this wedding was the suspended chuppah. Filled with delicate Japanese cherry blossoms, it served as the focal point of their ceremony. The blossoms created a romantic and ethereal atmosphere, and their soft hues perfectly matched the vibrant tones of the rest of the floral design.

But the magic didn't stop there. The cherry blossoms from the chuppah also flowed seamlessly into a spectacular ceiling installation. This intricate and eye-catching arrangement created a sense of wonder and transformed the space into a blooming wonderland. Our team loves a good challenge, and a ceiling installation is always a highlight for us.

For the tables, we designed a mix of centerpieces that were both elegant and warm. We incorporated a variety of our rental vases filled with beautiful blooms, and intermingled them with an array of candles.
